Dr. Cushner was recently named Chairman of the Division of Orthopaedics at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. He is now an active member in the North Shore-LIJ Orthopedic Institute and conducting research through the Scuderi Cushner Orthopedic Research and Education Institute.
He graduated medical school from the University of South Carolina and stayed there for his orthopedic training. He completed a knee fellowship with Dr. John Insall and remained on staff at Insall Scott Kelly Institute until 2014.
Dr. Cushner is a recognized expert in the area of bloodless surgery. He is an active member in numerous Orthopaedic organizations including Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, The Knee Society, and the Association of Professional Team Physicians. Dr. Cushner served as a team physician with the New York Knicks, XFL Hitmen as well as arena football City Hawks.
Dr. Cushner’s practice is dedicated to the treatment of all knee disorders.He has a special interest in cartilage injuries of the knee and actively performs a variety of cartilage resurfacing techniques.
