Professor Rodrigo Pesántez is the chief of Orthopaedic Trauma Service in the Department of Orthopaedics at Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, in Bogotá, Colombia. He obtained his medical degree in Colombia in 1988 and then did his residency also in Bogotá and graduated in 1994. He did an AO fellowship in Zürich under Prof. Trentz supervision, a Trauma fellowship in Sacramento (University of California in Davis) under Prof. Michael Chapman, a Fellowship with Prof Diego Fernandez in Lindenhofspital in Bern and Hip Fellows in Boston and New York.Professor Pesántez interest is minimally invasive fracture surgery, pelvis and acetabulum fractures as well as hip preservation surgery.He was the President of the Orthopaedic Trauma Chapter of the Colombian Orthopedic and Traumatology Society, Secretary of AO Latinamerica, AO Trustee, and has been involved in curriculum development for AO courses and has Chaired several courses around the world. He was a member of the AO Research commission and is currently a member of the Lower Extremity Expert Group.
