Dr. Huo is a full-time practicing orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement surgery. He is affiliated with University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, TX.
Dr. Huo has served on the editorial panel of numerous journals including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Arthroplasty, New England Journal of Medicine, and others. He has also served on several committees in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). He has served on the executive board of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). He is an active member of The Hip Society, The International Hip Society, AAOS, AAHKS, and the Mid-American Orthopedic Association. In addition to having participated in many teaching conferences in the U.S., he has also served extensively in training orthopedic surgeons in China, Europe, and South America.
Dr. Huo has authored over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, 22 book chapters, and numerous abstracts for national and international scientific meetings. He has also participated in several clinical trials including serving on the steering committee for such trials. His research focus is in complications of joint replacement surgery, revision surgeries, economic issues, and thromboembolism.
