学历与职务
他擅长于冠状动脉疾病、顽固性心绞痛、高血压和冠状动脉危险因素的检测和管理。他在脂蛋白分离、家族性高胆固醇血症的遗传检测、脂质紊乱的管理和心脏康复方面担任临床主任。他在心导管和CT冠状动脉造影术方面也有专长。巴卜教授还为全科医生和专家注册员组织和主持临床心脏病学会议。此外，他也是一名博士生的首席导师，也参与了帝国理工学院心脏病学硕士学生的教学。他参与了伦敦大学学院和帝国理工学院海外学生的教学工作。
Professor Barbir specialises in coronary artery disease, refractory angina, hypertension, and coronary risk factor detection and management. He is the clinical lead in lipoprotein apheresis, genetic detection of familial hypercholesterolaemia, management of lipid disorders and cardiac rehabilitation. He also has expertise in cardiac catheterisation and CT coronary angiography. Professor Barbir also organises and chairs meetings in clinical cardiology for GPs and specialist registrars. He is lead supervisor for a PhD student and is also involved in teaching MSc students in cardiology from Imperial College. He is involved in the teaching of overseas students from UCL and Imperial College.

Professor Barbir's major research interests are in familial hypercholesterolaemia, refractory angina, hyperlipidaemias, primary and secondary prevention, CT coronary calcification and angiography. He is involved in research on lipid-lowering therapies; that includes lipoprotein apheresis (LDL apheresis); refractory angina and dyslipidaemia in transplant recipients.
